Welcome to the School of Music website, providing you with information about  degree offerings and application procedures. We invite you to read a welcome message from the Director of the School.

Our programs have earned a reputation for being both comprehensive and flexible, allowing students to explore many of their interests. You may pursue courses in one or a combination of the following areas: theory/composition, music education, musicology/ethnomusicology, music technology and performance. It is also possible to combine music and education degrees in the very successful concurrent education program.

    On January 23 and 24, the School of Music held its annual Concerto Aria Competition and we are pleased to announce Molly Luhta as the 2010 competition winner. Molly will have the opportunity to perform with the Kingston Symphony later this year. The first runner-up award was shared by Saki Uchida and Caitlin Barton.     Dr. Kip Pegley has made the cut to the top 20 in TVO's Best Lecturer competition. The following website has information on the competition. This is a wonderful achievement and we wish Kip continued success and good luck in reaching the next round. Congratulations Kip!

    Isabel Bader Performing Arts Centre proceeds forward with a groundbreaking ceremony at the waterfront site on Thursday, October 1, 2009. This $63 million dollar project will feature a number of spaces dedicated to music performance and rehearsal, including a 550-seat concert hall. Check out the project's details at the PAC's website.

On February 12 and 13 2010, Queen's School of Music presents a spectacular fundraising event at Grant Hall, directed by Gordon Craig and produced by Bruce Kelly. You will be treated to the Queen's Symphony Orchestra, student and faculty voice performances, ballroom dancers, and the famous Viennese Sacher Torte dessert.
